Mr. Koji Orii is a traditional craftsman who develops original coloring technology based on traditional techniques and expands the possibility of metal coloring.

Materials necessary for coloring copper are radish, bran (rice bran), rice vinegar, plum, Japanese sake, and so on. Based on this basic coloring, Mr. Orii made trial and error and coincidentally created “peacock color”.

Mr. Orii tried it one by one with his own sensitivity, including a combination that can be said to be a wicked path that never used if a skilled craftsman. That’s why it can be said that a new coloring method with high artistry was born.

In 2009, Mr. Orii was certified as a traditional craftsman by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Designated Traditional Crafts.
